What is a dance floor wrap?
A dance floor wrap is a large-format vinyl overlay laid directly over an existing dance floor. Some floors are full-color printed; others are stock gloss or metallic film cut to size, with monograms or patterns added as cut decals on top. Every option uses slip-rated adhesive vinyl designed for this use, rated for heels, stomping, and hours of continuous foot traffic, and it removes cleanly after the event.
Because every venue is different, we build every wrap to the exact dimensions of your floor plan: 12'×12', 15'×15', 20'×20', or any custom shape. We seam multi-panel wraps with registration marks so the artwork lines up perfectly across joints.
Common event use cases
Wedding monograms and edge-to-edge patterns
The couple's initials, a floral pattern, or an edge-to-edge photograph. The dance floor becomes a design element.
Corporate and gala branding
Logo lockups, sponsor patterns, event themes. A dance floor guests can't miss or ignore.
Brand activations and pop-ups
Turn the floor into a branded moment for social sharing. Every phone photo captures the graphic.
Awards shows and premieres
Show branding integrated into the room itself, not just the stage backdrop.
Materials
Two options price out in the configurator: (1) Printed Dance Floor Vinyl in full color, for monograms, patterns, logos, and edge-to-edge photographic artwork; (2) White Color Change Vinyl, premium gloss film laid unprinted and cut to size for a clean solid floor conversion, with no ink, faster installs, and a lower price. Beyond those, we regularly build floors in stock metallic and mirror films (gold, silver) cut to size, and add gold monograms, checkerboards, or crest decals on top of a solid base. Ask us for a custom quote on those combinations. Any floor should be topped with our slip-rated floor laminate for guest safety.

Sizes
We build dance floor wraps from 5'×5' small photo-op floors up to 40'×40' seamed installations. Send us your floor plan (length × width plus any cutouts for structural columns) and we'll seam it to fit. Enter your dance floor size in the configurator; if the floor has a metal edge trim, the wrap is sized to cover the floor plus the trim (default 4" per edge).
Standard range: 60×60" to 480×480". Larger sizes seamed on request.
Finishing options
Slip-Rated Floor Laminate is strongly recommended for guest safety and stays available for both printed and solid-white color-change floors. Read our free step-by-step installation guide at /guides/how-to-install-a-dance-floor-wrap. It lists the tools you'll want (squeegee, snap-off knife, tape measure, blue painter's tape, isopropyl alcohol) and walks through prep, layout, application, and clean removal. For very large or complex installs we can quote white-glove install as a custom line item. Seaming is inherent to the product and is not an upsell. Every floor is produced in vertical strips with a 1" overlap at each seam and joined on install.

Turnaround & delivery
Dance floor wraps are custom seamed builds, so plan for 3 to 7 business days from proof approval. Rush: 48 hr (+35%) or 24 hr (+75%), prioritized but not guaranteed. For weddings, book your wrap three or more weeks out so we can proof, print, and ship with margin for shipping delays.
Frequently asked questions
What are the file requirements for a dance floor wrap?+
Because people stand and dance directly on the print, viewing distance is inches and quality standards are tight. Send PDF (preferred) or AI/EPS. Build at full scale, or at 10% scale with resolution scaled accordingly. Minimum 100 DPI at final size; 150 DPI preferred. Include 3" bleed on every edge. Outline all fonts. Keep logos and critical elements at least 2" from edges and away from seam zones (each seam has a 1" overlap zone where adjacent strips join). Use sRGB or CMYK, no spot colors. We strongly recommend having a professional designer or production artist set up the file.
Is the dance floor wrap actually safe to dance on?+
Yes. Our slip-rated vinyl is specifically engineered for dance floor use and meets industry slip-resistance ratings. That's different from ordinary transfer decals or full-color adhesive vinyl, which are not rated for foot traffic and become slippery under heels.
How is the wrap installed at the venue?+
Wraps are peel-and-stick with a wet install method. Most venue AV or DJ crews can install a wrap under 15'×15' with two people in under an hour. Larger wraps (or delicate seams) benefit from a professional installer. Every floor is produced in vertical strips with 1" overlap zones at each seam. The configurator shows you exactly how many strips your floor will produce and where the overlaps land.
Do I have to enter the dimensions with the trim?+
Enter your dance floor size in feet in the configurator, then confirm the trim width (default 4"). The printed wrap is sized to cover the floor plus the edge trim automatically. If your floor has no trim, choose "No trim, wrap edge-to-edge" and the wrap will match the floor exactly.
What's the difference between the solid white color change and the printed floor?+
The solid white color change is unprinted white vinyl for a clean floor conversion, with no ink cost, faster installs, and a lower price. The printed option is full-color for monograms, patterns, logos, or edge-to-edge artwork. Pick based on whether you need branding on the floor or just a color change.
Will the wrap damage the underlying dance floor?+
No. The adhesive is formulated to lift cleanly from sealed plywood, vinyl, and most rental dance floors when removed within 48 hours. Do not install on unsealed wood or damaged surfaces.
What size dance floor wrap do I need for my event?+
The industry rule of thumb is about 3 square feet per dancing guest. For 100 guests plan for a 12'×12' floor (144 sq ft); for 200 guests a 15'×15' (225 sq ft). We'll match the wrap to whatever floor your venue provides.
How far in advance should I order a dance floor wrap?+
For weddings, book at least 3 weeks before the event to allow for design proofing, print, and ground shipping. Rush production is available but cuts into your revision window.
Can I reuse a dance floor wrap for another event?+
Dance floor wraps are single-use. The vinyl and adhesive are engineered for one clean install and removal, not repeated cycles. For repeated-use branding, consider a modular hard-panel dance floor instead.
How are dance floor wraps shipped?+
Floors ship rolled in a heavy tube. Unroll the wrap and lay it flat for 24 hours before install so it relaxes. Order so the floor arrives at least 10 days before the event. Every shipped floor is insured. If anything arrives damaged, report it within 48 hours with photos of the tube and the print. Pickup and local delivery are also available.
